As New Zealand is a relatively small country, nothing is very far away, so no matter what part of the country you are in, you can enjoy some great Rock Climbing and Abseiling fairly close by.
Possibilities range from specially designed indoor climbing centres to numerous outdoor sites presenting a full range of options for those with no experience to those seeking the ultimate challenge.
Many areas such as Castle Rock in Canterbury, have over 1000 bolted sports climbs covering a wide range of grades.
Others combine Climbing, Abseiling and Caving for those seeking more adventurous options.
Queenstown in the South Island, offers the Southern Hemispheres first Via Ferrata, which allows those with little experience to participate safely, as exists in Europe.
Both Islands present a good number of options for everyone to enjoy a great way to experience a piece of New Zealand outdoors.
