New Zealand's many hills and mountains combined with miles of coastline, provide virtually every Mountain Biking terrain imaginable, however, a fast ride down a twisting, turning mountain track surrounded by spectacular scenery, is hard to beat.
 Mountain Biking has become a huge adventure sport in New Zealand, resulting in a multitude of purpose-built tracks to compliment some of the stunning natural options found in our many native forests, our glorious mountains and foothills and along some of the more remote parts of the Coastline.
Visitor Centres in most Towns and Cities will have a full range of options to offer.
 Mountain Bikers can choose independent options or join Guided Tours. Quality bikes are readily available to rent or buy, particularly in the main centres. The same applies to repair services.
Outstanding rides can be found in both Islands, from half day to multi-day tours. For those more adventurous you can be dropped at the top of suitable mountains by 4WD vehicles or even heli-biking for the ultimate descents. Be aware that some walking tracks, particularly in National Parks, don't permit Mountain Bikes, so check guidelines before heading out for great fun and adventure.
