Options range from gentle Grade 1 and 2 rivers for those with little or no experience through to a number of excellent top-grade rivers for those well experienced and seeking the ultimate in fun and adventure.
In most areas, both guided and independent rental options exist depending on the level of experience required.
In the North Island, some of the top White Water rivers include the Rangitaiki, Kaituna, Rangitikei, Mohaka and Wairoa Rivers.
In the South Island there are 14 Grade 1 to Grade 4 rivers within 20 minutes of Murchison alone, plus other excellent options in the Canterbury and Central Otago regions.
